The Bottlenecks to Multiplication Movements

bottlenecks blog

Have you ever wondered why some churches and church planting networks experience rapid multiplication, while others struggle to get movement?

The answer to this question lies in understanding the bottlenecks that can hinder multiplication movements in the church.

A multiplication movement is a process of growth where a church or group of churches reproduces themselves through developing new leaders and planting churches. This type of movement is essential for the spread of the gospel. However, despite its importance, multiplication movements can often be hindered by a number of common bottlenecks.

Some of the most common bottlenecks include a lack of leadership development, a lack of strategic planning, addiction to addition and resistance to change. Additionally, cultural and theological differences between different groups of churches can also pose a significant challenge to multiplication movements.

These bottlenecks can have a significant impact on the church’s ability to reproduce themselves and spread the gospel. However, leaders and pastors can overcome these challenges by prioritizing resources for leadership development, creating a clear and compelling vision for multiplication, and fostering a culture of collaboration and openness to change.

Equipping leaders is also crucial to the success of multiplication movements. By developing the character and competency of leaders, they can effectively carry out the vision and reproduce themselves, leading to the growth and expansion of the church.

That's why, at this year's Exponential Conference, we'll be discussing the bottlenecks to multiplication movements and exploring ways to overcome them. Whether you're a pastor, church leader, or simply someone interested in the growth and expansion of the church, this is a conversation you won't want to miss!

So if you're coming to Exponential this year join us for a deep dive into the world of church multiplication movements and learn how you can play a role in breaking through the bottlenecks and promoting growth and expansion in the church.

This year at Exponential Orlando, Mac Lake and Peyton Jones are leading two workshops on multiplication movements. Join them for conversations about how to remove bottlenecks and catalyze regional networks for greater impact.

Workshop Session 1: The Bottlenecks to Multiplication Movements
Multiplication only flourishes once all of its barriers are removed. Join Mac Lake and Peyton Jones as they unpack how to fine tune the critical systems that every church needs to have if they want to multiply.
Time: Tuesday, 2:30 – 3:30pm
Location: Language Ministry Center - Room 112

Workshop Session 2: Creating and Scaling Regional Networks
The Apostle Paul didn't just plant churches, he planted regional networks of churches. This workshop with veteran church planter Peyton Jones and leadership guru Mac Lake will examine how Paul scaled his church planting efforts by raising up other master trainers and relationally connecting churches. Then, they'll equip you to practically apply those principles today.
Time: Wednesday, 8:45 – 9:45am
Location: Language Ministry Center - Room 112
