The Muppets and Team Leadership
Because NewBreed trains teams for multiplication instead of the solo hero leader, for Exponential this year, NewBreed is going to be giving away famous team-up stickers. These aren’t your Nana’s stickers either. These are stickers with a purpose. They’re stickers about teams, true, but they’re also stickers about APEST.
Have you ever thought about the famous team-ups from pop culture over the past few decades and where the individuals in those teams might fit into an APEST framework?
I have.
If you’ve read any of my books, that may not be a surprise to you.
It’s time to put on makeup. It’s time to light the lights. It’s time to get this blog started…
Apostle: Kermit is the apostle. He’s always thinking about how to harness everyone’s gifts in a way that reaches those outside.
Prophet: Gonzo. He’s the weird one.
Evangelist: Animal. Loud, brash, and thick eyebrows that desperately need a trimming. Animal also likes to bang the same drum all the time…loudly.
Shepherd: Miss Piggy. This pig is all about family. She is obsessed with the tadpoles and piglets she and Kermit can make. Discipleship is her game…wait, what did you think I was talking about?
Teacher: Fozzie, like most pastors, doesn’t realize that he’s not actually funny. That said, he tries. Nobody throws fruit at him when his jokes don’t land, but they want to. Like Fozzie the bear, he often talks longer than the audience appreciates.
I’d like to imagine that Pepe the king Prawn represents Christ in his humility, but I don’t think you came here for that…

Then, they'll equip you to practically apply those principles today.
